Working with Vencer

There are some things you can do to ensure that Vencer does the best job possible for you.

  • Submit your resume in Word format, to ensure that it can be sent to prospective employers electronically.

  • Ensure that your resume is readable, well laid-out and free of spelling/grammar errors.

  • Send us a modified version of your resume every time you update any applicable information. Examples: when you acquire a new skill/qualification or an update to your personal information, such as cell phone number or email address.  When resubmitting, please include a note to ensure that the resume replaces your old one in the database.

  • Please let us know if you are working with any other placement agencies as they may have different controls regarding the submission of resumes and it is important to us to make sure you look good.

  • Before the interview, be honest about your level of interest in a job.  Interviewing for a job you don’t intend to take wastes everyone’s time.

  • Keep the lines of communication open when you have been placed in a job (temporary, contract, or permanent).  Discuss any successes or challenges you face with us – over the phone, coffee, or a lunch at your convenience, on us.

  • If you wish to discuss a pay raise in a contract position, the best time is at contract renewal.  Be prepared to back up your request by describing your increasing value and contributions on the job.
